Atop The Softball World

Last night McLean Little League defeated Orange, CT. 6-2 in the Softball World Series championship game from Portland, Oregon. Jamie Bell went 3 for 4 driving in 2 runs and scoring one herself, leading the way for McLean. Bell played last year for the McLean team that was beaten in the championship game 18-5 by a team from Waco, TX. Bravo, girls.

Hometown pride! Is it strange that Deep Cover, The Captain, and I were exchanging high-fives after the final out? The Captain and I considered actually going to the restaurant in McLean where the watching party was but thought better of it... granted, it's been a while since I even went into McLean, despite living less than 10 minutes from it.

Here's a better question. Is it a bad thing that I-66 and myself were talking trash to the other team on T.V., even though the girls were 11-12. I say no, because you know what, our hometown Little League has the World Champions right now.

On the other hand, it was agreed that we should not have actually been within earshot of any players, parents or coaches. They might have been somewhat offended.

Yeah, what Cookie said!

I'm sure the former players, parents, and coaches were trash-talking as well. That would have been pretty funny to hear.
